Moles Seeds offers a range of vegetable varieties in either a pelleted or pill format.
Pellets and pills are normally used to make akward shaped seed easier to use in a seed drill but they can also make seed easier to sow by hand and easier to spot in the compost or soil. The pellets and pills are normally constructed from a clay-like material but can also include binding agents, colourants and sometimes fungicides. All of our organic seed sold in a pelleted or pill format is compliant with organic standards. Some products are primed before they pelletised either to ensure better post-sowing performance or reduce the need for light during germination. Primed items should be kept cool in a fridge before sowing and used within 12-14 weeks of purchase.
When using pelleted or pilled seeds it is important to remeber that moisture levels must be generally higher than with natural seed because additional moisture is required to breakdown the pellet before the germination process can commence.
