Long flowering Scabiosa is great for the back of the border and also makes a good cut flower. 90cm. (150 seeds per gram)
Annual varieties: Sow direct into open ground in May. For seed count see species descriptions. End Use: Cut flowers.
Perennial varieties: Sow March-June, germinates in 2-3 weeks at 18°C, cover with vermiculite. Prick out into 9-10cm pots after 4 weeks, grow on at 10°C, sell as green plant with label, or in larger pot in flower. Approx. 75 seeds per gram. Sell in: 10cm or larger pots. End Use: Borders.
