1. Why do we have a Privacy Policy? 

We have developed this policy because we want you to feel confident about the privacy and security of your personal information. Moles Seeds takes all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal information.

We use personal information to take and fulfil customer orders.

We only disclose information to third parties for goods and catalogue delivery purposes.

We may also request your email address or mailing address for the purposes of adding you to our mailing list. We maintain a strict 'no spam' policy that means we do not sell, rent, or otherwise give your email address to a third-party without your consent.

We do not collect any personal information about you from other companies and organisations. If you apply for a Trade Credit Account you may be asked to provide 'Credit References' for credit checking purposes only.

We do not share your personal information with other companies outside of Moles Seeds, or any parent or sister companies related to Moles Seeds. However, we may provide information, in response to properly made requests, for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime, and the apprehension or prosecution of offenders. We may also provide information for the purpose of safeguarding national security. In either case we do so in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We also provide information when required to do so by law, for example under a court order, or in response to properly made demands, under powers contained in legislation.

8. For how long do we keep personal information? 

The time period for which we keep information varies according to what the information is used for. In some cases there are legal requirements to keep data for a minimum period. Unless there is a specific legal requirement for us to keep the information, we will retain it for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected or for which it is to be further processed, e.g. for the submission of UK government trading statistics.

At the end of that retention period your information will be either completely deleted or anonymised, e.g. by aggregaton with other data so that it can be used in a non-identifiable way for statistical analysis and business planning.

Examples of customer data retention periods include:

• Orders: when you place an order we will keep the personal data you give us for five years so we can comply with our legal and contractual obligations.
• Inactive accounts: If you have not used your account for more than five years it will be flagged as 'inactive' and we may contact you to ask whether you still want to keep it open. Unless asked to do otherwise we will close your account and delete or anonymise the personal data associated with it.

We are serious about guarding the security of your personal information and the details of any transactions made. As required by the UK Data Protection Act of 2018, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.

We secure access to all areas of our website, most notably transaction areas, using 'https' technology.  Access to your personal data is password protected and secured by SSL encryption.

Cookies are used on this online shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket, to store delivery addresses (if the address book feature is used) and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. 

Moles Seeds's cookies do not collect any information regarding the use of your PC or your Internet browsing in any way.

At no point does our website create any third party cookies on your machine.

14. What information do we gather about visitors to our website? 

We collect information from visitors to our website to help us to make improvements to the website and to the services we make available. We know, for instance, how many visitors there are to our website, when they visited, for how long and to which areas of our website they went. We do not share this information with other companies. 

Every computer connected to the internet is provided with a domain name and an IP address. When a visitor requests a page from within the Moles Seeds website, our web servers automatically identify and log the HTTP request that is made to our web server. There is absolutely nothing unusual about the information just described - the practice of collecting this data has been generally standardised by nearly every web server on the internet today.

We do not use any of this information to identify individuals visiting our website. 

15. Will we disclose the information collected to Third Parties? 

Moles Seeds does not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party. 

Moles Seeds will disclose your personal information or any of its log file information only when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such actions are necessary to:-

16. Overseas customers

By ordering our goods and/or providing your personal data to us, you expressly consent to the processing of your personal data by us. You will retain the right to ask us not to process your data in certain ways, and if you do so, we will respect your wishes.

Sometimes we will need to transfer your data to another country to enable us to supply the goods requested. Ordinarily this transfer will consist of moving your personal data from your country of residence to ourselves and to other third parties located in the UK, however we may also need to transfer data to third parties in other countries, e.g. delivery service providers.
