Perennial, flowering naturally from April to July, under cover around a month sooner. Sow April-July, cover seed lightly with vermiculite, germinates 2-3 weeks at 15-20°C. 700 seeds per gram (sow 5g for 1,000 plants).
Harmful if eaten.

Compact varieties such as Cameo, Mini-Star and Alpina are sold in 8-10cm pots in flower. Sell taller varieties as non-flowering plants in 8cm pots in Spring, or in larger, 2 litre pots in flower in late Spring.
