Pot type. Produces an abundance of deep pink double and semi-double flowers, the first of which may be single but with the higher light levels and warm nights of the Summer they will tend to become double. 18cm. Sell in: 10cm or larger pots and baskets. End Use: Baskets, pots and containers.
Pot types: Sow February onwards, onto the compost surface, do not exclude light, keep moist. Prick out into cell packs or small pots, sowing to flowering takes 12-14 weeks. Seeds are best sown several per cell and for best results pinch the plants 4-5 weeks after sowing and 1 week before potting to encourage a bushy habit.
Annual Cut Flower types: Annual, sow directly into open ground every 2 weeks in April-June, ideally thinning to around 30cm in the row. Cut when nearly all flowers on branch are open 1000 seeds per gram. End Use: Cut flower (bouquet filler).
Perennial Gypsophila: Sow April-July, cover seed lightly with vermiculite. Germination takes 2-3 weeks at 20°C, 1200 seeds per gram.
Taller Perennials: Sell in: 10cm to 2 litre pots, as green plant with label. End Use: Borders, and bouquet fillers.
Shorter Perennials: Sell in: 8-12 cm pots, as green plant with label, and in flower. End Use: Rockeries.
