Working in conjunction with a leading breeder of amenity grass seed, we have put together a range of professional quality amenity grass seed mixes. All the cultivars within the mixes have been independently tested by the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI), to measure the vigour, colour, visual appearance and disease resistance.
Cultivar types:
Bent: gives a fine, tightly-knit texture to the turf. Maintains a green colour during the winter.
Fescue: there are three main Fescue types: Chewings: fine leaved, tolerates close mowing. Creeping Red: compact growth, used to bind the sward together. Hard: good cold tolerance, ideal for low maintenance situations.
Amenity & Sports Ryegrass: fast establishing and hard-wearing. Our mixes use dwarf varieties designed to give fine leaves with a high shoot density.
GroMax treatment: some of our mixes are treated with a coating called GroMax that improves establishment, stimulates root growth, improves tolerance to stress and enhances water and nutrient uptake. Biostimulants assist a seedlings ability to take advantage of the soils own inherent reserves of nutrient by stimulating the soils microflora, resulting in improved root growth and establishment.
GroMax is a dry formulation of:
Natural humates and humic acid - rich in auxin type substances that enhance antioxidant synthesis; food source for micro-organisms.
Seaweed extract - stimulates root growth after damage; contains cytokinins to promote cell division.
Sucrose - acts as high energy food source.
Vitamins (B complex and K) and potash; - enhance plant development and disease resistance.
The product is compatible with most micro-nutrients, fertilisers and pesticides. Please note this is not a chemical treatment.
